WikiConference India 2011

The First WikiConference India is being organized in Mumbai and will take place on 18-20 November 2011.

WikiConference 2011 is the first conference of its kind being held in India and is intended to become an annual national flagship event for Wikipedia/Wikimedia in the country. It is meant to provide a common platform for all Indian Wikimedians to meet and share their views, discuss challenges and exchange useful tips, best practices and other information. The Conference is open to participation from all nations, however, the Conference will have a very distinct Indian flavour and deal primarily with issues relating to India on Wikipedia, English and Indic language Wikipedia projects in the country, possible partnerships and collaborations and the Wikicommunity editing on these issues, whether in India or abroad. The conference is being co-hosted by Mumbai and Pune communities in partnership with Wikimedia Chapter (India) and it is hoped that the conference would not only be successful but also set the trend for future events to come.
A limited number of scholarships are available and applicants may fill in the form here before the last date, i.e. 15 August 2011.
Call for participation is now open, please submit your entries here. (last date for submission is 30 August 2011)
